Poolboss, Inc. is the new name for Techtel Co, Inc. Techtel is a Costa Mesa, California based company manufacturing pool and fountain controllers since 1986. During 1998, Mike Buchtel and Rick Costa, minority shareholders of Techtel, acquired the pipe forming molds, valve tooling and assets of the control division from Techtel. They formed a new company known as Poolboss, Inc. and began production of the Poolboss automatic pool water leveler.
Rick Costa was a manufacturing manager at Techtel as well as an administrative vice-president and oversaw the daily production of control valve line, and was responsible for all of the test procedures.
Mike Buchtel was in charge of new product development for Techtel for 20 years. He was responsible for the tooling, hydraulic, engineering, and design efficiency for the control valve line and the swimming pool water leveler line.
Together, their 40 years combined experience in the control valve industry gives them unparalleled knowledge as well as leading edge technology in the manufacturing process of creating your Poolboss water leveler.
